How consent is obtained

Consent is obtained verbally, in person, by the salon owner speaking with their own team member before the invite is sent. The Maravoa software requires the owner to enter the team member's name and mobile number to send an invite; the owner does this only after the conversation below.

Verbal consent script

Salon owner: "I'm setting up our salon on Maravoa, the software we'll use for appointments and checkout. I'd like to send you your invitation by text message so you can set up your account. Is it okay if Maravoa texts your invite to your mobile number?"

Team member: "Sure, that works."

Salon owner: "To confirm: you agree to receive a text message from Maravoa with your team invitation link. Message and data rates may apply. If you ever want to stop receiving messages from that number, just reply STOP to the message, or reply HELP for help. Do you agree?"

Team member: "Yes, I agree."

Salon owner: "Great, the invite text is on its way. Remember, you can reply STOP at any time to opt out."

The owner then enters the team member's name and mobile number in Maravoa, which sends the invitation.

How to opt out

  • Stated verbally during the consent conversation: reply STOP to the message at any time to stop receiving messages; reply HELP for help.
  • Included in every message: every message sent from this number ends with "Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
  • Effect of STOP: the platform immediately records the number in a persistent opt-out list. All future sends from this number check that list first and are suppressed for opted-out numbers. Replying HELP returns assistance information.
